Was Viewfinder Free on Epic Games?

Yes. It was free for one day on 29 December 2025. It is not free now. A copy claimed that day stays in the Epic library.

Two independent write-ups, Noticias3D and IndieGameBundles, both date the Epic holiday giveaway to 29 December 2025 and both call the window 24 hours. I do not have a start hour or a time zone from either article, so I will not invent “17:00 UTC” the way the Steam sale page actually prints an end time. “29 December 2025, a 24-hour window” is the whole clock. I also did not find an earlier Epic giveaway in those articles. If you missed the day, there is nothing to redeem.

The product page itself was behind a block when this was checked. A Wayback snapshot from 2 May 2026 shows Windows, 46 achievements, and a €24.99 standard price. I do not convert that euro figure into dollars. The US list price on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch that same research week was $24.99, which is a different store’s number. Epic cloud saves are a blank: the sources that document Steam Cloud and GOG Galaxy do not mention Epic’s sync, and I leave the cell empty on the save page.

How claiming worked, in the past tense: Epic’s store had a free button for that day, and a claimed build remains yours. There is no code to type in a menu. This game does not have redemption codes at all. Current buyers use the Epic store at the listed price or one of the other official shops on the platform table. I am not linking a key seller that frames the old giveaway as a download.
