Use the level table to jump to a room, check its collectible, and open the cited full walkthrough. The routes below summarize the chapter’s main mechanics; detailed hint pages are linked where available.

Level 1.1 is the handshake: you place a photograph so it overwrites the empty air, rewind if the placement is wrong, and walk into the first teleporter. Level 1.2 adds a three-battery charger. Batteries can be carried, and the silly achievements “Bye bye, Battery!” and “Battered by a battery” both live here if you drop one off the level or onto your own head. Level 1.3 asks you to rotate a photograph of the teleporter. “Contactless” is the variant where you finish that room without touching the battery at all.

The second group is about pictures inside pictures. 2.1 uses bridge and gate photos and is where you can pet Cait. 2.2 cuts holes with a sky photograph. 2.3 is the recursive photo and the first simulation glitch, the room that looks like a server closet; “Recursion excursion” wants that photo placed fifteen times. 2.4 nests drawings, paintings, and photos until the exit is a picture of a picture. I keep those four as the “learn to look inside the frame” set, separate from the battery drills.

3.1 introduces the photocopier, which later chapters abuse for batteries and film. “Everything in its right place” is the three paintings in that room. 3.2 builds a bridge out of a teleporter’s silhouette and sends you back to the hub. Optional 4.1, which IGN simply calls Level 4, is a chain of paintings that ends on Monduck and unlocks the Warm filter. The four ducks are Ducky 3 on the bench in 2.1, Ducky 1 at the start of 2.3, Ducky 2 on a box in 3.2, and Monduck at the end of 4.1. IGN’s duck sentences almost repeat each other; the Steam guide is the only full mapping, so that is the one I print. The set feeds “Get your ducks in a row”.
