Viewfinder Chapter 4 Level 3.1
Level 3.1 is optional. It is the first optional challenge, the room with Venus, and the room that unlocks the Painting filter.
IGN marks Level 3 as optional. The Steam 100% guide writes “3.1 (optional challenge)”. intoindiegames labels “Level 3.1 (Optional)”. GameRant puts Venus in “Level 3 … another optional challenge”. That is four written sources for the same claim, which is why the Spanish query “capitulo 4 nivel 3,1” belongs on this room even though this page is in English. GamesRadar’s “Level 3-1” reads like an ordinary three-battery room and lists “optional challenge 1” separately. I treat that as a numbering split, not as proof of two different levels.
Hint 1
More film matters as much as more batteries.
Hint 2
Frame the film box and the battery together so each picture funds the next duplication.
Four batteries, then the pad
Violet material in this room cannot be photographed, so you cannot simply snapshot the whole cage. The film box and the caged battery have to be in one photo together. Place that photo, pick up the duplicated film and the duplicated battery, and repeat until four batteries exist. Set them on the pad and use the teleporter. intoindiegames is the source for the “repeat until four” count; IGN describes the same film-and-battery duplication without spelling the integer as clearly. I keep four because the second source states it.
Venus is at the start, on the left wall, before the duplication loop. Skipping the planet still lets you leave, but “I didn’t planets for this to happen” stays incomplete. Finishing the room unlocks the Painting filter. The second optional challenge is Level 4.1, a gap you bridge with a photo of the path, not another battery farm. The full optional index is here.

Yes, on the in-game numbering. GamesRadar’s “optional challenge 1” label actually points at Level 4.1.
Where is Venus?
On the left wall at the start of this level, according to GameRant and the Steam guide.
